What is the Kanyike Project?

The driving force behind the Kanyike Project is Fr. Kakuba Kapia. His vision? Empower members of his community to support themselves. The project began in 1986 in the area where he grew up but back then totally devastated by many years of war.

We are the leading UK charity helping the Kanyike villagers. 90% of them live in poverty. They trust and respect us as we have been working with them for nearly 40 years. Together with our partner charity in Uganda (Kainsude - Kanyike Initiative for Sustainable Development), we provide consistent, regular and ever increasing funding to kick-start a self-sufficient and sustainable way of life.

All our work is suggested by villagers. This ensures they have a sense of ownership of and pride in anything that takes place.
All of the money we raise goes directly to the Project. NONE is lost to administration.
Every penny received goes directly to the people who need it most.
