In spring 2018, the DHL (Peterborough) team transformed life at the heart of the villages – the Health Centre. Thanks to them, there is not only piped water but even hot water. Hands can be washed and equipment sterilised. Patients benefit enormously.
The DHL team went on to install a tiny solar panel on the roof of the staff quarters, making an immense difference. Phones can be charged and there is light in the evenings and so our staff are much happier. Attracting staff to a previously ‘dark’ village had been a problem. Not any more!
The DHL team next built a flight of steps up to the shower block, so no more slipping on the way to get washed.
Progress is certainly being made.
